Hello.

"The great thing about the internet is that you get to meet people you would otherwise only meet if you were committed to the same asylum." -Robert Brault

I feel like we've gotten to that point.  Where a proper introduction would be appropriate.
I'm going to break a rule right now, and blog about blogging.  Because I want to acknowledge it's something I've really come to love.  I mean, I can get onto a computer, basically throw up my emotions into a post and people I've never met before in my life say, "Hey me too!" It's the most convenient way ever to find kindred spirits, and I want to get to know you people better.

Whether you follow this blog and regularly comment or just check in here and there, I'd love to know who you are.  So, if you wouldn't mind, please introduce yourself!  Leave me a comment answering these personal questions, because those are the best kind of questions:

1. First, sum up the story of your worst heartbreak in no more than five sentences.

2. How old are you?

3. Okay, but how old do you feel?

4. If you could visit any other time period in history, when would that be?

5. If you could meet any fictional character, who would that be?

6. If you could spend a day with any non-fictional character, dead or alive, who would that be?

7. What do you do when you have nothing to do?

8. Which song is the anthem to your life?

9. What book will you never get tired of, ever?

10. Do you have a job?  What is it?

11. What do you wish you could/hope to do for a living?

12. What's your blog URL?

13. When a restaurant gets your order wrong, are you the kind of person who asks for it to be corrected, or the kind that stays quiet and eats it anyway?

I promise, I'm interested.  Even if I already know you in the non-blogger world, I'd still like to see what you have to say.

Plus if nobody does this, I'll be really embarrassed.

  2. Hi Meg,
You're the cutest. And I have been following you for a few months now.
I'm glad I came across your blog, because it's lovely, and you are unique without being super OUT THERE. I admire you, your words, and your mind. You're pretty (:

    1. I've always picked myself up from things that try to break me. But the biggest heartbreak I've had was not with a boy. It was with my mom. She hasn't been a part of my life for the past 5 years until May, when I called her, and explained that I wanted us to be involved in each others lives. We had a 3 hour phone call, in which we talked about every little thing in our relationship (or lack there of) that has hurt both of us. That was brutal. (We are now on the road to developing a relationship, and becoming friends. Blessing in disguise.)

    9. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
    10. Yes, I'm a riverguide in the summers in Moab, UT - working for Western River Expeditions.
    11. I've got a thousand different things I want to write. I want to do wilderness therapy for troubled teenagers, I want to have a flower shop, I want to be a writer, I want to be a massage therapist, I want to be at home with a house full of littles, and be a little wifey who bakes treats all day for the man I love.

  3. My brother, who was my best friend, died in a car accident. I'm 27 and feel my age. I would visit the 60's and 70's and want to stay. I'd meet Pi. I think Anne Frank and I would have been friends. She is much more of a drama queen than I am but I like her and would love to spend a day with her. Usually ride my bike, read, or watch TV when I have nothing else to do. At this moment, Katy Perry- Roar. So embarrassing. But based off a personal crisis I'm going through at this time in my life, I'm learning how to have the courage to roar and speak up when the situation calls for it, and it calls for it quite often lately. I'll never get tired of "Fingerprints of God". That book changed my life and continues to. Yes- I have several jobs that together, make up the time of one full time job. I personally love it this way. Hairstylist, blogger, shop owner/designer. I'm doing it. topsyandhavoc.com

    1. I went to a Hockey game with Kodie Carter (I call him Penis head now), his sister (Who was also my best friend at the time), and our friends Beau, and Tiffany. I was too dense to understand that although we were "Dating" as much as 15/17 year old dating goes, he had also brought Tiffany to the hockey game as a date. Two timing right in front of my eyes, so I spent the rest of the night crying in the seven peaks bathroom to his sister about how awful he was. Beau orchestrated it all because he liked me...I dated him for 3 months like 5 years after this happened.

  16. 1. Weston and I broke up once after being together for 2 years during high school. We both knew we needed to grow up a little bit separately before we would ever work out together and fortunately, about a year and a half later, we got together and have been together for the 4 years since.. but that year and a half was the longest most heartbreaking time of my life. I just missed him terribly.

    1. Being lead on over and over and OVER again by my best friends brother. She spoke so highly of him which lead me to fall more for the idea of him I guess. The hardest part was simply the cognitive dissonance of realizing he was a scum bag and not the hero my friend described.
    2. I'm 24.
    3. I have days where I feel 80 because I wish I had been born in that era, and days where I feel 14. The majority of days I'm 14.
    4. Back to the days when the west was young. Being discovered, explored, settled, and farmed. I'd want to discover some hidden mountain lake and have it named after me.

    13. After waitressing, I'm now the person that will send back something if I know the waitress will understand. For example, a cup of water with visible things floating in it and caked on the bottom = sent back, caesar salad instead of house = nbd, keep it.

    2. Thanks! I actually am fortunate to be in love with my friend of 13 years. We met at church when I was 10! It's good because even though neither of us identify as Mormon now - our families have the same values and we have the same values. :) (Are non Mormons welcome here?! Is that a silly question? I'm sorry if yes.)

    3. NO JANE! If you aren't a Mormon, then get out of here!

Obviously I am 100% kidding. haha that would be ridiculous. I'm pretty positive most of the readers here aren't LDS. Totally fine :)

    13. Yes I will but sometimes I make my husband do it and just look stern and aloof on the side to reinforce my displeasure and keep from chickening out.

(Also, I misread the first question and thought you asked for the story to be summed up in five words not sentences. Oh well. The ellipses say everything.)

  21. 1. My high-school boyfriend (you know him). He didn't personally break my heart, but it broke my heart to watch a young man with great potential waste his life away on drugs and alcohol. Apart of me blames myself, even though I know it isn't my fault he's doing that to himself.

  26. Is it too late to do this? I hope not. I just found you today!

    1. First, sum up the story of your worst heartbreak in no more than five sentences.

I met someone when I was 21, and it didn't work out, so I blamed it on the timing. I started seeing him again last year, and I found out it wasn't the timing that was off, it was us. I spent 5 years thinking that if played my cards right, the universe would put us in the same place, at the right time, and the rest would be history. I was wrong, and now I feel like I wasted a lot of time.

    2. How old are you?

    27.

    3. Okay, but how old do you feel?

    22. I hear, "You look, like, 22." a lot. And I think, "Good, because I still feel it."

    4. If you could visit any other time period in history, when would that be?

    1950s.

    5. If you could meet any fictional character, who would that be?

    Shoshanna from HBO's Girls.

    6. If you could spend a day with any non-fictional character, dead or alive, who would that be?

My father's father. He died two years before I was born. I'd like him to meet him.

    7. What do you do when you have nothing to do?

Listening to music, tumbrling, texting - typically all three at the same time. And I do those things even when I have other things I should be doing...

    8. Which song is the anthem to your life?

Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise - The Avett Brothers

    9. What book will you never get tired of, ever?

I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley

    www.alissaerin.blogspot.com

    13. When a restaurant gets your order wrong, are you the kind of person who asks for it to be corrected, or the kind that stays quiet and eats it anyway?

I stay quiet. I don't have allergies, I'm just asking for no tomatoes to save them a penny or two, instead of me taking it off my sandwich, and them throwing it out.
