caramel sky

I'm going to miss the summer.  Where everywhere you look is life and warmth and sunlight.  It seems like I spend all year waiting for it and then it just slips away from me.  I'll especially miss the evenings.

Outside.  Bare feet.  Warm sidewalk.  Quiet street.  As we walked by the marshy area that leads to the lake, it smelled just like tomato plants.

The light outside this time of year from 7:30-9 pm is so deliriously beautiful.  I don't own a camera with the power to do it any justice, but it's overwhelming to take in.  All dusty and dreamy.  Like the world was drenched in a caramely glaze.  Delicious.

    1. Oh thank you! I actually felt like I looked pretty frumpy in this picture haha so I'm glad you like it. I'm sorry summer is already over for you. School starting again is always such a slap in the face!

    2. True, I remember it took forever for summer to come in Canada for you! Hopefully it tapers off nicely. And not pre-maturely!

  3. not only am i going to miss the summer, but i already feel the pains of a summer that went underused and under appreciated. i feel like this year was summer-less in some ways (still haven't gone to the pool, still haven't gone camping, not a single s'more or sno cone has been had, etc. etc. etc.) is this what life looks like as an adult? if that's the case i think i'll find myself a peter pan that lives in a summer dreamland.

    1. If you find a summer dreamland Neverland, please count me in! Summer as a grown up is the worst. In the winter it's no big deal because all you wanna do is curl up in a ball anyway. But there is so much to DO in the summer that you just miss. Because of work and bills and stupid things like that. I guess I'm saying, we're on the same page here.

  4. Summer took so long to get here this year, didn't it? Last winter was miserable and this summer has more than made up for it. But it has also spoiled me because of how gorgeous it has been here. Summer nights on my driveway are my favorite things. Let's hope this next winter isn't as rough; I don't think I could handle another one like last year!

    1. Last winter was so mean! It better not be that bad this year. It didn't even hit 20 degrees on some days. Just not okay.

    1. Agreed. It really is a bummer. I just try not to think about it and ignore all of the pictures my friends post from Hawaii.

I love reading what you have to say about what I had to say. Feel free to leave those thoughts here.
