When you're single, New Year's Eve and other such holidays look something like this:
You make plans with friends. You spend the evening drinking Martinelli's, wearing colorful plastic costume jewelry, staying up until the new year arrives, and doing fake group kiss pictures for no apparent reason. With people who may or may not speak to each other anymore. I've honestly lost track.

When you're married, New Year's Eve looks something like this:
If not exactly like this. New Year's Eve comes, you don't really have any plans so you just stay home and nobody really notices. That is, if you're as anti-social and/or easily entertained as we are.
Okay, we're not that anti-social. We get in at least one solid hang out with some other married pair per month. At least one.

The O.C. My idea of a wonderful night.
Real party animals.
Left over Christmas chocolate and The OC definitely sounds like the perfect night! And don't worry, my husband and I like spending all of our time together sometimes I think we are anti-social too, but oh well ;)
