It was an unusually social weekend.  Even more unusual was how generally okay I was with all of the social-ness (officially a word) going on.  Drew was gentle with me at first, "Wait, you're sure you wanna go?  We can just go home.  Really.  You're positive that you want to spend the weekend not watching Netflix?"  Bless his one-year-of-being-my-husband heart.

I'm not sure what got into me.  I even put on make-up and jewelry.  Until this weekend I can't even remember the last time I was out past midnight.  I told you, old person.

We hardly stopped moving with a luncheon, two receptions, a bon fire, fast food runs (because easy), practicing cello for a Mother's Day song in church, my first energy drink in I think a year, and topped it all off Saturday night with a concert.  Two hours of ambient, slightly psychedelic rock from The Black Angels.  Obviously I slept the entire drive home.  I'd like to still be sleeping.

I would imagine a hang over felt something similar to this.  But let's get real.  I have no idea.

  1. hahaha... I'm the same way. I prefer staying in to watch Netflix and not even allow my brain to broach the subject of socializing. Why go out when there's a comfy pair of PJ's waiting to be worn, a TV with Netflix, and two cats who want to cuddle? I don't get people sometimes.

P.S. the last line is totally me too. haha.

  2. Haha! I love this! I feel like I am the same way. Except I always want to go out, but when it comes time to actually make a plan... Nothing. But every once in a while I find myself actually wanting to get ready to go out. Like makeup and jewelry ready. Doesn't happen very often though haha

  3. Good for you! It looks you had an absolute blast :) And your kitten is adorable. About energy drinks: not worth it. Who knows what are in those things lol!

  4. Looks like you had a great time! I mostly like to sit around and do nothing on the weekends too. Sometimes tho, I feel like I need to get out that way I can appreciate doing nothing again. Btw, your makeup in that first pic is so so pretty! xx

  6. it's not often, but sometimes these weekends are worth it, if you know what i mean? like 99% of the time, i just want to sit at home on the weekend, watching movies, or old tv episodes, but sometimes we go out...or more like richard drags me out. and it's SO FUN. that i think that's the kind of person i want to be - that person who goes out and has that kind of fun, who scorches the ground with FUN-ness and intensity. but i'm not that person...only occasionally. sorry for the ramble, meg, looks like a really really good weekend xo
