I considered the way that I appreciated a song so much more when I knew the words, a person that much more when I knew their story, a city when I knew of its history.

I decided, or more came to the realization, that the more you know about something, the more appreciation you have for it.

Knowledge, in general, gives meaning to existence.

So, learn.  Take the risks and responsibilities that come with it.  And you'll find meaning everywhere.

  1. I agree. I've had this same thing happen recently, on sort of a different note. I've decided that people who mack cliched things or things that they might look down on as stupid or childish deserve so much more respect. It may be easy to write off someone who is in their 30s and loves Disney, but you never know why they love it so much. You don't know what happened in their childhood to make them cling to it so how dare someone judge them. Every person has a story and every living thing deserves respect. Man, getting older is weird. You learn so much through the mundane.

    1. Getting older IS weird. And we aren't even old at all yet. I hope we keep blogging forever and in fifty years we'll look back and feel so wise!

  2. I like how you have a tab for rules but it says "this page doesn't exist". It made me think, "ah, well maybe rules no longer exist". And that kind of made me happy.

    1. bahaha, that's so funny. I hadn't realized it said that. But you know what, it works. There aren't any rules anymore.

I love reading what you have to say about what I had to say. Feel free to leave those thoughts here.
