imaginary conversation part deux.

"I read it. What you wrote."

"Did you?"

"I did."

"And," a gulp, "what did you think?"

"I think," a pause, wrinkled brow, "it seems as though you've written more about me than anyone else."

"I think that's probably true. Definitely. True."

"Why? I mean, I'm not mad -"

"No, I know. I just...I think, out of all of them - relationships, I guess, you were the one that left me the most..." What was the word? "Puzzled."

"Puzzled."

"Or, disoriented."

"Right."

"And so there was just more to process, you know? More to work through in my mind."

"Right."

"So I wrote."

  1. This is beyond perfect. There are some people who just imbed themselves into your skin no matter what you do. Writing is the only medication a lot of the time. (That and A LOT of Grey's Anatomy)

  2. I've had a very similar conversation in my head many times. I'm glad you wrote it down.

    1. I'm glad you can relate. It seems like a lot of people are probably left in this spot. It sort of feels pathetic at the time....why can't I stop writing about you? WHY?

But it happens. It just does.

  3. I love this. I actually had a conversation similar to this and blogged about it sometime last year. The dialogue is spot on.

    1. Oh Tiffanie haha you're sweet. Maybe one day! We'll see if I can make it into the land of published material in this lifetime.

  5. the heartbreaking things always seem a little bit easier to write about over the happy things. more content, more feeling...

    1. You are DEFINITELY not the only one. Not at all.

  7. Amen, sister. That's the only reason I'm writing my book right now - a disorienting relationship. Eeep.

I love reading what you have to say about what I had to say. Feel free to leave those thoughts here.
