Growing up is packing all of your earthly possessions into boxes and wondering how your parents did this so many times.  Growing up is having a landlord who rides around your apartment on a bike, peeking in all of the windows.  It's forgetting what season it is because all you do is sit in a heated and air conditioned office all day.  Growing up is not even getting excited on payday, because BILLS, and knowing that at least half of your paycheck will be gone before you get a chance to calculate where to.

Growing up is acknowledging that you despise of something, and doing it regardless, because nobody else is going to do it for you.  And if they are, then what kind of grown-up are you, anyway?

Growing up also means eating cake at 10:30 pm, right after working out.  And with your bare hands because you already packed all of the eating utensils.  It's having a husband who still thinks you're at least somewhat appealing after you do such repulsive things.
Sometimes it can be pretty cool, I guess.   Even when your life feels kind of up in the air and that's one of your least-favorite feelings because you have the type of personality that thrives in security.

  1. first off, i love your huge area rug! so pretty. i'm not sure i'm ready to grow up but momma and pops say it'll be here any time. they seem to think i'm getting married at twenty. cake after working out is the best. it counteracts all your hard work but if you turn off your brain and think that working out just makes you be able to eat guiltless. it's wonderful. g'luck with the moving. i actually love packing. by the time i was eleven i was living in my seventh house. i thrive with change, but yet i need normality and security. i'm a walking contradicition. xx

    1. You never know! I got married at 21 and expected to wait until I was at least 28! haha but no rush, of course. I definitely did my best to turn off my brain at that point. The post-workout exhaustion helps.

You love packing? Are you kidding me?? That's a lot of moving, why did you move so much?

  2. haha working out then eating cake is the best! I like to think I burned so many calories that it has to be more than what is in the cake. Even though I know it's probably not. oh well.

have fun moving!!! New places are exciting, after the stress and anxiety wears off.

  4. I've totally been clutching onto my youth with both hands and glaring at people trying to take it away from me! I love that you balanced out the bad (responsibilities!) with the good (cake with fingers at night!) and yeah, I just adored this blogpost!

    1. Yes! Just like a crazy stalker person! I think it's because of the cat. He's not a fan of the cat.

  7. I love this. And, moving looks chaotic!! But it's kind of an adventure. By the way the cake picture is great. And I don't blame you!! Looks yummy.

  8. That looks more organized that any of the times I've moved. And I've moved a lot. Which means, I really should be more organized than I am at it. At the time I think I am, and when it comes time to actually move, it's complete and utter chaos. Maybe one day I'll be an organized mover. Maybe.

    1. It totally wasn't organized, I promise! Then again, we've only been on our own for a year, and don't have that much stuff. But honestly, we just feverishly threw all of our crap in boxes and went on our way. Don't be too hard on yourself. Moving is meant to be a mess!

I love reading what you have to say about what I had to say. Feel free to leave those thoughts here.
